KIMBERLY D. has been a wonderful instructor to work with. She corresponds with me frequently, is easy to schedule lessons with, and, is always on time. We have had a few schedule changes and KIMBERLY has accommodated us very well. Kimberly is persistent, kind, patient, entertaining and a fabulous teacher. She is teaching our "19 month old" to be water safe, and, after 6 lessons the concept of holding onto the coping of the pool and moving sideways to the steps or climb out of the pool on her own is sinking in. Plus, I can't say enough about Sunsational Swim School, so easy to work with, great staff!!!!! Thank you Sunsational for sending us KIMBERLY!!!!! You truly are LIFE SAVER
This service, and our instructor Emily C. specifically, has been an absolute game changer for our 5yo son, Jack. After just a couple of lessons, Jack was totally comfortable floating by himself and treading water in the pool - a couple lessons after that and the kid is swimming from the shallow end to the deep end (30ft away) all by himself! His confidence is amazing to see and he now plays Marco Polo in the deep end with his older brother and joins the big boy diving games! We could not be happier with the Sunsational Swim School as well as Emily's fantastic attitude and instructor skills.
Heydi is the best swimming instructor we've ever had. She has a keen understanding of the strokes and a great instinct of the building blocks of swimming. She is calm and encouraging and got my 11 year old interested again in swimming lessons. My seven year old skipped to the pool knowing she was coming! He loved his lessons with Heydi! And let's just say, that's not how it was at other swim schools. Thanks Heydi for putting the joy back into swimming for my children!
I am so pleased with our swim lessons this summer! Claire was an excellent swim teacher, who provided the right balance of staying focused and having fun. The kids made so much progress under her instruction. Claire was also very accommodating when our schedule changed.
Kimberly has been a wonderful instructor to my 3-year old son Logan! He loves getting in the water with her for his lessons and has made tremendous progress in a short amount of time. I believe one-on-one is the best way to teach a child to swim because you're not wasting time waiting on the progress of the other children. I will definitely request Kimberly beyond our initial 12-lesson package and plan to start lessons for my 1-year old daughter as well.
I booked a package of 12 semi-private lessons for my 2 children ages 5 and 7. We were paired with Emily C. We were lucky that Emily agreed to come all the way up to Solana Beach. You can't beat the convenience of swimming lessons at home. One can tell that Emily loves teaching swimming. The kids enjoyed her, both progressed and learned a lot. My oldest is ready for a youth Swim Team! I definitely recommend Emily from Sunsational Swim School!
This is my second summer using Sunsational Swim School. Our new instructor, Claire is wonderful! My extremely shy daughter responded well right away to her instruction. She does such a great job making the classes fun and a safe learning environment. Thanks to Claire, my daughter is pool safe!

Our pricing is based on the package of lessons you choose. Prices vary depending on the number of lessons, the length of each session, and whether you opt for private or semi-private lessons. We offer a rolling registration, allowing you to sign up and start lessons at any time that suits you. This flexibility helps accommodate busy schedules and seasonal preferences. Our Learn to Swim Guarantee is a water safety skill set designed for young beginners. If your child were to jump or be lightly dropped into the water, our instructor teaches them to turn around, kick and grab the wall. Most kids are able to learn these skills - and more - within 12 private lessons, but if your child needs more time to meet this goal, we'll give each student up to 4 additional 30 minute lessons free. Here are the general requirements for more lessons: a) student is 3-17 years old b) student completes at least 12 private 30 minute lessons c) student has at least 3 lessons per week d) pool is minimum 82 degrees for all lessons e) student does not require special needs instruction or extreme fear counseling.
